Brief Writeup:  

Uganda hosted the 5th Edition of the Games from July 6th – 16th 2008 with the vision of Staging the best ever All Africa University Games. The mission of the organizing committee was to showcase Africa’s sports, talent, excellence and fair play.

The Republic of South Africa were the overall winners at the games which attracted 14 countries, competing in 17 different sports disciplines, with woodball being played as an optional sport.

The Games attracted 803 people as team delegation members; 1167 Volunteers; 500 security personel; 9 members of International Woodball Federation; 15 foreign ministers, rectors and mayors; 6 members of the FISU Executive Committee; and 3 members of RADO.
