Over 4000 University student athletes from all over Africa shall descend on the East African city of Nairobi, in Kenya for the 10th FASU Games Kenyatta University 2022. The Multi-Sports event, which was scheduled for 2020 and postponed due to the COVID19, has now been confirmed for 6th – 10th June at Kenyatta University.

 

This was revealed in an official comique and invitation to all universities in Africa issued today under the joint signatures of Prof. Godfrey S. Mse the LOC President, Ms. Nomsa Mahlangu the FASU President, Mr. Mbabu Murithi the KUSA President and Prof. Paul K. Wainaina the host Vice Chancellor.

On behalf of the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU), The Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA), Kenyatta University (KU) and the Organising Committee (OC), we have the honour and the pleasure of inviting the universities from Africa to participate in the 10th All Africa University Games to be held at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya from 6th to 10th June, 2022.

 

Brief History - The All-Africa University Games (FASU Games) is organised once every two years as the flagship event with nine editions having been held (Ghana - 1974, Kenya - 1978, political instability across Africa affected the events until its revival in Nigeria - 2004, South Africa - 2006, Uganda - 2008, Namibia – 2012, Kenya-2014, South Africa 2016 and Ethiopia 2018). The format of participation at the games changed from National University teams to individual universities since the 8th FASU Games South Africa 2016.
